Interview Preparation

When applying to study abroad, you might be asked to give a virtual/online interview with the admission authorities for the last stage of the application process. You may also be called for a visa interview at the embassy where you’ll be asked questions regarding your academic aspirations, course, university, why you want to study abroad, and so on. You can face similar questions in your university interview as well.
Your NEXAGlobal counselor will help you prepare for these interviews with a mock Q/A session and give you tips on crafting the perfect responses. The key is to be honest, real, and confident about your purpose to study abroad, the journey you’re willing to take, and the contributions you’ll make for your university and the country.
Some common questions that are asked in such interviews are –
- Why did you choose this country to study in?
- Why did you choose this university?
- Why did you choose this course or program?
- What other subjects are you interested in?
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
- What are your professional aspirations?
- How do you solve problems or address emergencies?
- What do you hope to learn or discover in your time abroad?
- Who is your role model?
- What’s your communication style?
- How can you help the world?
- What are some of your passions or hobbies?
- Have you ever traveled to a foreign country before? What did you learn there?
- How will you contribute to the college community/society, if you are selected?
- Tell us about your achievements/most memorable student experiences?
